To find the correct paddle size, you need to measure the distance between your hands when your arms are out in opposite directions and your elbows are bent at 90 degrees. In order to find this measurement use a tape measure or other long measuring device as you follow these steps. In order to find this measurement accurately it is best to have a partner to assist you.
Step 1: Grab a measuring device: a tape measure or other long measuring device.
Step 2: Extend each arm in opposite directions away from your body forming a T-shape.
Step 3: Bend your arms 90 degrees at your elbows, raising your hands above your head.
Your arms should now look like football field goal posts: your biceps should be horizontal (parallel with the ground), and your forearms should be vertical (perpendicular to the ground).
Step 4: With your arms in this position, make sure the measuring device is held in both hands and measure the distance from the outside of one hand to the outside of the other. Make sure your arms are perfectly at 90 degrees when measuring.
This measurement (in inches) is the shaft length you need for your paddle.
If you are between two measurements you can choose if you would like your paddle to be shorter (more control in each stroke) or longer (more power in each stroke), both will fit you.
